This is the next generation of the mobile sign in that it will allow businesses to advertise for ext3ended periods of time and your sign will be useful in attracting new clients even after the sun sets. No bus bench currently lights up and if you want to display your ad on the bus shelter that does light up your rates go up to almost $550 per month and that is only single sided.
It is important to note that currently the city of Edmonton does not allow a temporary/mobile sign to be digital. Any digital copy on the sign is not allowed under the current land use bylaw and is therefore subject to a fine of $250. This is clearly discriminatory to me that a billboard can be digital yet a mobile sign can not. With changes that are sure to come with improvements in power efficiencies and new materials this is where our industry should be headed but our hands are being tied yet again by government and this is clearly discriminatory that one type of sign can use this technology and yet another type of sign cannot.
