GENERAL RULES FOR Grande Prairie SIGNS
- Signs shall not interfere with the safe movement of pedestrian or vehicular traffic.
- Unless otherwise allowed under the provisions of this Schedule, no sign shall project or encroach over any lot line
Portable Signs in Grande Prairie
A Portable Sign means a sign that is relocatable or removable from a site and used for advertising for a temporary period of time. The copy on such a sign identifies or advertises a business activity, Portable Sign product, service or entertainment located on the premises or site where the sign is displayed
A development permit is not required from the City of Grande Prairie if all the applicable conditions from the bylaws in section 4.10 are met
Land owner permission required.
Portable signs in Grande Prairie must be on the business property and represent the business activity. They can not advertise for third party.
A portable sign can not be within 15m from another portable sign or billboard.
The number of portable signs that can be put onto a property in Grande Prairie is determined by the frontage length as follows:
- 1 portable sign for up to 30m of frontage.
- 2 portable signs for between 30m to 150m.
- 3 portable signs for a frontage greater than 150m.
The city of Grande Prairie allows illuminated portable signs.
