Portable Signs in Saskatoon

Portable Signmeans a portable, freestanding sign mounted on a wide based frame with a single sign face area of not less than 1.9 m² or greater than 6.0 m² which can be readily moved or transported to various locations.

  • Requires a valid permit, which are issued in 12-month periods, starting July 1st. Will not be prorated.
  • Portable signs must be set back 0.3m from property lines
  • One sign per every 90m of frontage
    • Distance between signs is a minimum, the average height of the two signs
  • Off-site advertising only permitted in MAC, MAC3, HC, DSC, D and Industrial zones
    • Located a minimum of 45m from other portable signs and 30m from billboards
  • Signs may be illuminated
  • No portable sign may occupy any space required for offstreet parking unless the site contains offstreet parking in excess of that required under the Zoning Bylaw.

Community Associations – Portable Sign rentals in Saskatoon

  • Community Associations and other organizations which are communityoriented and nonprofit in nature may place portable signs in accordance with this clause.
  • Portable signs may be located on any site which does not contain a one to four unit dwelling.
  • Portable signs located in accordance with this clause may not remain on any site for more than 90 consecutive days.
  • Where a portable sign located in accordance with this clause is removed from a site, no portable sign may be located on that site for at least 30 days.
  • Portable signs located in accordance with this clause must not display advertising of any commercial product or service.
